September 2012 Recap

The first event of September was Jeremy's best friend, Michael's wedding in Memphis. It was a fun weekend, filled with lots of time hanging out with friends we don't get to see often!

 

We made it down to Beale Street to eat lunch, check out the Peabody ducks,

 and enjoy a drink at Silky-O's!

 

The wedding was so sweet! We are so happy that Michael found such a super sweet girl and has so much love for Jessica! The wedding was beautiful, set in the backyard of Jessica's grandfather's house. She also wore her mother's dress! Doesn't she look gorgeous and so happy!

Next on the agenda for September was the start of Football Season and Tailgating!

MSU vs. Auburn....We won!!

 

Later in the month, we went to the Prewitt Family Reunion (my mom's side of the family) and the MSU vs. S. Alabama game! It was an eventful and good day! Unfortunately I forgot my camera so I don't have any pictures to share. But on a positive note, the bulldogs were 4-0!

 

In baby news...we had our first doctor's appointment on September 17th! We found out that I was about 7 weeks along and got to hear the sweetest sound in the whole world, the heartbeat! Now we are just praying and trusting in the Lord to keep him/her safe and healthy until May!

 

August 2012...A GREAT MONTH!!

Picking up from the last post.....(Sorry, I realize these posts are not exciting but I want to remember what we did in 2012 so this is why I'm back tracking to highlight each month.)

 

August 2012

 

August was a GREAT month for several reasons!

The first reason is because I got to go to Oklahoma to see my best friend from birth, Whitney, and meet her sweet baby boy, Winters! The trip was wonderful! Whit and Boston made me feel so welcome and loved while I was there. We played games, watched the Olympics, and had a delicious steak dinner. I enjoyed lots of cuddles and snuggle time with baby Winters too! Whit took me to her favorite restaurant in town called Katy's Pantry. I must say it was very good, I can see why she likes it so much!

She and I also snuck away for a little girly time to get pedicures!

The next reason for such a GREAT August was my niece Hayden's 5th Birthday! I went to Atlanta to visit and help with her barbie mermaid swim party. It was a fun weekend filled with celebrations for one special little girl! Here are some pics...

Now on to the last and greatest reason for the GREAT month....

We found out at the end of the month that I'm

 That's right Jeremy and I are having a baby, due in May 2013!

We could not be more excited about this new journey.

God is so good and has blessed us with this sweet little miracle!

We are reflecting on this verse and praising the Lord!

 

Thank God for this gift too wonderful for words!

April 2012 through July 2012

Not to take away from any of these events by not designating a separate post to them but for time saving sake, I'm going to do a speedy post for these months.

 

April 2012

 

Started with a very fun Girl's Night at Bethany G's House!!

(hopefully planning one at my house soon ladies)

 

 

Next was Super Bulldog Weekend - Spring Game and Sugarland Concert!

It was much colder that night than we thought it was going to be but still a fun day!

 

Also, in April we went to my sweet college friend Carrie's wedding in Starkville. Unfortunately I forgot my camera and didn't get any pictures of the beautiful bride.

May 2012
May was filled with more fun gatherings, weddings, and exciting news. Jeremy left me for two weeks to attend LSU Banking School. I think he really enjoyed himself, even though he was going to classes and doing school work.

I think everyone had a good time eating crawfish, playing games, and enjoying the fellowship!
Hopefully we will have another one next spring!

 

We also went to Jackson for one of Jeremy's fraternity brother's weddings.

Tommy and Courtney's wedding was beautiful and

we enjoyed seeing alot of people we hadn't seen in a long time.

Now the exciting news....my best friend Whitney had her first child on May 2nd. His name is Winters and he is one of the most precious babies ever! I was so proud of my bestie!! She lives in Oklahoma so I was not able to meet baby Winters when he was born. :( But stay tuned for pictures of when I finally got to meet the little man.

June 2012

 

The beach was the first thing on our agenda for June, so we packed our bags and drove down to Gulf Shores. Jeremy and I were so excited to spend a long weekend at the beach, but to keep with the tradition of all of our vacations in 2012, it rained the whole time we were there. :( 

I thought we had several pictures from the trip even though it was sort of pitiful, but I can't find them. Here is one sad picture from my phone of the beach from our balcony.

 

In other news for June, my parents moved back to Mississippi from Georgia. 

I had gotten used to them being in GA but I love having them closer and back in Brandon!!

 

July 2012

 

Our Sunday school class had a 4th of July party at the White's house. We enjoyed good food and fireworks (the guys put on a good show)! I think the kids all had the most fun running in their backyard, jumping in the bouncy house, and playing with all sorts of toys!

 

 

We went canoeing down the Okatoma at the end of July with several couples from our Sunday School class. We had the best time even though the trip lasted a little longer then we intended! Everyone packed a lunch and we stopped half way through the trip to eat. I couldn't believe it but Jeremy and I actually flipped out canoe...haha! Luckily we were not the only ones to do that.

 

 

 

 

Well that pretty much wraps up the highlights from our Spring and Summer!!

Remembering a Great Man

Well I decided to break up the 2012 updates into separate posts, it is just too much to write in one long long long post. Also this particular post is very special and needs extra attention.

 

After we returned from our mission trip to the Dominican Republic, I found out that my Papa (my mom's father) was very sick and had been sent home with hospice care. I was able to go see my family and him one more time before he passed away on March 22, 2012.

 

 

 He was one of the strongest and most loving men I've ever known and I think about him often. Now as I write this post, I think about my children not getting to meet him. Not getting to have peppermint fed to them in the hospital (he always had peppermint and let me suck on some the day after I was born) or not learning what it feels like when a horse bites an apple (you know that thing people do to your knee or leg). He was quite a prankster but also very loving, giving, and a servant of God. He was a wonderful grandfather, it was a privilege to be his granddaughter! I find comfort in remember old stories about him and knowing that he is in Heaven now singing with the angels and working in God's garden (two of his favorite things)!

Update...Wow has it been months!?! Oops!

Well as you all know by now, I'm not very good at keeping up with this blog. Sorry I just get busy and forget about updating it. So here we go for our 4th or 5th or 6th try, I can't keep count! haha!

Let's start by updating since the last post so that I can remember what we did in 2012.
(I'll try to make a few speedy posts, since that is 9 months worth of info) Here we go....

Jeremy and I went to the Sabeneta, Dominican Republic back in March 2012 for a mission trip with a group from our church. We had a great trip and came home so very humbled by our experience. The people were so nice and welcoming in the DR! Our goal for the week was to make disciples and plant seeds. We walked the streets of Sabeneta each day telling bible stories to any one who would listen. The group also had the opportunity to tell stories to many young boys at several different baseball camps. They love baseball down there!! I'm really hoping we will get to go back again next summer to conduct a VBS for the children of the town. Another goal is to help the missionaries there find and purchase some land in order to build a church. Sabeneta and the people of the DR will forever hold a special place in my heart.

This verse is still comforting to read and was very comforting during our trip. All the people of the world are so different but God is the same everywhere!!
